Enabling Faster Decisions with a Centralized, Automated Sales Dashboard

Life-science affiliates lacked timely visibility into consolidated sales performance. Each entity exported sales and P&L data into separate Excel files and shared them manually, resulting in delayed management decisions, high operational burden, and inconsistencies across companies.

To address these challenges, we designed and implemented a lightweight DX data platform on AWS and delivered a centralized Power BI sales dashboard embedded in Microsoft Teams, enabling executives to securely view consolidated sales data in one place—on schedule and with confidence.

 

Our Approach

Data Intake and Pipeline Design

  • Designed a semi-automated data pipeline on AWS to standardize intake and processing:

    • AWS Transfer Family → Amazon S3 for secure file uploads.

    • AWS Lambda for data validation, conversion, and standardization.

    • Amazon Redshift / EC2 for structured storage and BI serving.

  • Established consistent data definitions and transformation logic across entities.

Analytics and Dashboard Enablement

  • Built curated Power BI datasets and dashboards “by purpose”, aligned to management and incentive use cases.

  • Published dashboards securely to Microsoft Teams with role-based access controls.

  • Embedded dashboards directly into executive workflows for ease of access and adoption.

Governance and Operations

  • Implemented audit logs and monitoring to ensure data traceability.

  • Delivered a handover runbook covering operations, exception handling, and maintenance.

  • Designed the platform to be scalable, supporting additional affiliates with minimal effort.
